Most rejections come from small, fixable details — not eligibility. Here is what to check before you submit.
Most visit-visa rejections we see in Abu Dhabi have nothing to do with eligibility. They come down to five recurring, fixable issues.
First, passport validity. Immigration wants at least six months remaining from the date of travel, not the date of application — a passport that clears today can still be rejected if it expires close to the trip.
Second, photo specifications. A photo taken on a patterned background, or one that is more than a few months old, is flagged more often than people expect. We keep a plain white backdrop on hand for exactly this reason.
Third, sponsor mismatches. If a relative or employer is sponsoring the visit, their Emirates ID and the applicant's name spelling need to match across every document, including old passports with a different transliteration.
Fourth, timing the application against travel dates. Visas processed too far in advance can expire before the trip; too close, and there is no buffer if extra documents are requested.
Fifth, incomplete supporting documents for tourist visas — a return ticket and proof of accommodation are asked for far more often in 2026 than in previous years.
We check all five before anything is filed, which is the main reason our resubmission rate stays low.
